- Chevrolet Camaro Z28 Hella H9 90mm 2 Sam M. - Stock lights are 2x5" sealed beams, which is a laugh, so Hella 90mm is a fenonemal upgrade! Mounting is relatively easy to the rear sitting shroud. ( Beam pictures are without HID).

  • Time Needed To assemble: Approx. 50 Hours
  • 2 x halogen bulbs $0

  • Stock lights rating:

  • Low beam: Outright poor.
  • High beam: Efficient. Only a bigger diameter fixture can be better.

presenting: "Milan Motorsports SPORT 1" You might think headlights are redesigned from ground up ,but fact is that Hella units are inserted into stock headlights after dremeling out the rear and creating some sort of mounting bracket.

  • Low beam: he utilizes a D2S and made it fit onto the Hella projector units backplate. High beams have a plain halogen bulb.
  • Low beam cutoff: Straigth cutoff was selected because of aggressively lowered suspension.
  • Low beam curved lense: clear. Milan found that it gives a much crisper cut-off and more down the road illumination. However, the angle of the beam is somewhat less than with the "fresnel" style curved lens. All in all, Milan likes the clear ones better.
  • High beams: To increase estetics, Milan inserted Hella low beam units for high beams as well, except that cutoff shield is removed.
All in all, you can call this a true quad projector setup. Not that quad projectors are optically any better than a projector low beam/reflector combination. Its a matter of personal estitical preference.

  • The projectors are inside the stock headlight housing, so the headlights are still fully adjustable. The inside of the projectors are modified: some areas inside of the projector are painted flat black to block of certain light and some areas are trimmed to allow extra light. It's hard to show what kind of modifications I have, since I have a HID bulb hooked up for testing while I do the modifications, so it was basically "trial and error". pic1 pic2 beam1 beam2
